Importants of Scholarship

Scholarships are very important in your college career. They help you gain extra money that way you will not be in as much debt for student loans. They also teach you about deadlines. If you don't meet the deadline of turning in the essay for the scholarship you could miss out your chance of getting free money! It looks amazing on resume's  for applying to different jobs maybe even for different grants.

College

1. What do I have left to do:
 -Turn in application fee/Mid August
 -Turn in application/Mid August
 -Write essay/Beginning of August
 -Apply for FAFSA/February
 -Get recommendation letters/August
I am close to where I need to be. I should get my GPA up some and also work hard to get a great SAT score. Yes these colleges are for me! They are close to where my family is moving to which is what I really want. Although Syracuse is a little farther than the other to. But it isn't that bad than staying in Texas and being 21 hours away from my family.

Yes, I believe that a college degree is very necessary. Although it is very expensive its all worth it. Not only will it take your money but it will also take away from your family in a way. You may be far away from your family and only get to see them on holidays. On a scale from 1 to 10 I rate the united states a 7. Only because I do not like standerdize testing. Although Japan is ranked higher than the US our education system is almost the exact same.

SPRING BREAK 2015

What I am going to do for spring break is go to the Chris Brown and Trey Songz concert. (which was amazing) I will also hang out with my amazing friends. Spring break is an exciting time for me. I will also catch on the much needed sleep that I haven't had in a while.

Friday blog

1. My mom is the most influential leader in my life. She has impacted my life in many good ways. She has showed me that I can do anything I want to do with determination no matter the circumstance.
2. It goes both ways for me I guess Mr. Keating is correct although we still need the other things I mean someone is going to have to do it. To me poetry expresses emotion and it shows the way some people feel and you may even connect with it.
3. It shows that we shouldn't just look at life in just our point of view and we she look at it in others also. Because what's going on in my life is different to whats going on in my friends or family. You never know what others are going through.
4. What I want my last impression to be is that I was hardworking in no matter what I did. I was kind caring and helped others.

Thursday's Blog

1. Yes I feel that Neil would have committed suicide even if Mr. Keating was not in his life. Because it wasn't Mr. Keating's fault that he died. It was his fathers fault. He wasn't able to do what he wanted to do cause his father said so and that was his only way out.
2. I feel that the bravest is nawanda because he spoke his mind. Although he didn't always do it at the most appropriate times. I think the coward is Dylan because he didn't take anything to heart that mr. Keating said. It all went in one ear and out the other.
3. I think mr. Keating put the book there. He doesn't always care what the administrations have to say about the poet society. He wants the boys to do what they please and if that helps them enjoy time then that's what he wants them to do.

I feel like the theme is living life. Mr. Keating taught them to live life how you want with things you enjoy doing. He showed them life in a different view than many of them never looked in. He showed them that not doing the things you don't enjoy will make you miserable. Although many of the boy's parents won't allow them to do what they want to do. All of the parents have an idea of what they want from each of their sons and they can't do anything else. Like Neil he wants to be an actor but his parents won't allow it. I guess he felt like if he can't do what he wants in life he might as well die.

1.I think that Todd is the one that transformed the most throughout the movie. At the end he gained the courage to stand up and lead when Mr. Keating was leaving. He didn't care even if the "sub" was telling him to sit down or not.

2.Richard is the one that did not change at all throughout the story. He didn't care whenever Mr. Keating left and didn't stand when all of the other boys did when he left. He did not take in what Mr. Keating wanted them to.

3.Mr. Keating changed a lot throughout the story also he was shown that not everyone has the opportunity to be able to do what they like and enjoy life.

4.Todd was the extra shy person and he overcame is fear. Neil wanted to be an actor but his parents would not allow him to. He then took a way of escape by comitting suicide. Knox was girl shy and overcame his fear by talking to the "love of his life".

No I do not think Betty was happy actually she looked very very unhappy. She talked to her mother about how unhappy she felt but her mom did not believe in divorce. In this time many people looked down on people that would get a divorce. The roles of the woman in 1950 were very different from then and now they were taught to only take care of their house, kids, and husband. Woman only cooked, clean, and washed clothes. This is different from the view of Katherine Watson because she wants to show that woman can do more than just cook, clean, and take care of her family. She wanted to show that we are capable of doing things that are above and beyond.

The difference between Miss Watson and the quote is that she didn't only teach by facts. She taught beyond facts and made the women much better. Miss Watson's progressive teaching has went far and beyond the quote made by Charles Dickens. She did not want to confine to what society wanted at the time which was facts as Charles Dickens said students should learn by. She wanted to make sure the students knew more than just facts. In the beginning of the movie she taught based on the way wellesley college wanted her to teach but the women already knew everything they went farther than what they needed to. Which is not what Miss Watson wanted so she had to change it up. She didn't want them to confine to society and that is just what they were doing.

My favorite theme of the movie is that Ms. Watson was able to show the girls that they did not have to be the woman that men wanted them to be. She showed them that they are able to do bigger and better things than just sit there and bake pies and have a family. Although they taught her something as well.

This movie looks like it is going to be very informing to young girls to show that they don't have to go along with society. It will also show that having a plan that is set for your life may or may not work out properly. Things may change also people may change. It will also show how sometimes people may have a really big impact on your life. No matter if it is a teacher or a friend.

College vs. High school exams

I think that high school test are much easier. High school exams have less material than college exams. The less material in a test the better. Although there are many more high school exams in a semester than there will ever be in college. The hardest would be the college tests of course because there is a lot more material in one test that many people may or may not be able to intake. Great ways to prepare for these test are studying for at least 1-2 hours each night. Make flash cards on different questions that difficult for you and you need work on. You could also take really good notes and make yourself a study guide which will help you intake much information just from making a study guide.
