Why I Want to Go to College.

I am hoping to accomplish many things in college such as passing all of my classes with high grades of course. I would also like to finish with a high GPA. I am going to college for myself of course. I want to make myself better and become very successful. The things I look for in college is of course Ratings and how well I would fit in. I also like to see how student oriented the colleges are because whats a college without it being student oriented! I also like how well there sports team are only because I want to see if its worth going to any games I don't want to go to a college with a bad sports program. I also look in the education part which is most important! Such as there graduation rates and etc. I would seek input from my mom because I mean she has 6 degrees and working on her PhD. She pretty much knows the ropes about college and scholarships which is really helpful. College will help me understand what I need to know when I start my career officially.

Jobs for Teens

I found a job at Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar as a Greeter http://www.snagajob.com/job-seeker/jobs/job-details.aspx?postingid=19133753&oq=teen+minimum+age+16+years+old&item=1&searchid=936b6281-d628-bc26-301e-0ecdd8f86a7b&src=title This is a great job for teens because its very simple although it will give you great working skills. You have to have great communication skills with others and also have to be ready for lots of crowds. BWW is really crowded especially on game days! This job is definitely great for a first job. Its very fun and energetic job which most teenagers need in there jobs so they won't feel bored and not put great effort in the work. If that were to happen we would definitely get fired for sure. What I would do to prepare for an interview is come up with questions that you feel they will ask you and elaborate on them. Explain to them in a professional tone what you are excited to begin. Its not really that hard to find a job online its just the difficulty of actually filling out the application. It takes A LOT of time to fill every specific thing on the application. Depending on what you apply for. Such as applying for a cashier job you may or may not have to answer math question depending on the company. You also have a reading and English quiz I guess you could say.

Homeless to Harvard

My favorite part in the movie is when she was willing to go forward with school. She was really brave to keep moving forward in her life under all of her circumstances. I'm not really for sure what I would do in that situation. Of course in my head I would say yes I'm going to keep moving forward and go to school but in that situation it could be a totally different story.

Budget

I expected my budget to be the way it is. Being a college student and paying bills is tough because you don't have the time to have a full time job. Therefore you won't get payed like a person with a full time job. I am ready for the responsibility that will come with it. I just don't like the idea of spending my own money but of course I know it going to have to happen. I realized I might not have enough money each month after all of the bills I will have to pay. For now I could save money for emergency keeping just in case I would ever need it.

Top Career

My top career so far is an OB/GYN. I really like the idea of helping mothers make their pregnancy easier for them. Even though it's still tough its good to know that someone is there to help you out. I also like the idea of help bring a new life into the world. Knowing that the baby you are delivering could do big things in the world and help make it a better place. To know that you help that baby get her is more than exciting. Even though I would help deliver many babies each baby would have a special place in my heart. Also each mother, especially to know that you can possibly make good friends with each of the mothers during this time which is something that each mother really needs. That is why I believe being a OB/GYN would be great for me.

Stress

Being in the 11th grade and also playing adds a lot of stress during the school year. My stress level is a 12 out of 24. I don't really get to have all the sleep time I wish and probably need. What I usually do to lower my stress is I try to make time for myself. Such as getting a chance to lay down for a few minutes, listening to music and singing, and also talking to my friends and laughing. Laughing really helps my stress level. My parents expect a lot from me and I feel like its just to much to handle at times. Along with my school expectations which can take a toll on me. Also sports which add a lot more expectation from coaches. We don't ever get out of practice till 6:00 I get home around 6:10. Then I usually have to cook dinner and also clean the kitchen. I also have to make sure all of my school things are together and also my volleyball stuff. After I make sure all of my bags are packed I take a shower and I finally get to start my homework. By then it is around 9:30. Cause of this I don't really get a lot of sleep because of all the homework we get.

Organization and Procrastination

So far my method of organization is having a binder for every class that I take. So far it is working very well for me and I have been keeping up with everything. I also keep a planner to make sure I have everything I need to do finished and to find out what I need to do next. Organization is very important in high school especially the closer we get to being high school graduates and freshmans in college.

Procrastination is really not the best way to go in school. Trust me I've done it enough times to know. It will hurt you in so many ways. Your stress level is at the max because you are working so hard to make sure its done in just enough time. It hurts your grade A LOT!!! Teachers can tell when your work looks rushed and they may even take points off just because you didn't take advantage of the time that they gave for you. It hurts your social time because, you hold it back for so long that you can't do anything else other than that assignment that has been sitting there waiting for you. It takes you to stop the procrastination. You can set reminders on your phone that way you can remember to actually do the assignment. You can have a designated time out with no electronics and just work that way you could actually, worry about what work that you have to do and not what your friends are doing.
